On the map this place is called Nuchatlitz and it is on the west coast of Canada on centrail part of Vancouver Island. The more Sea Otters here than anywhere else in the world. The Russians hunted them in th e1800’s but a small group of them survived in Califorina and were shipped to this Canadian coast and after a few decades they moved south to our area. They changed the ecology because they ate the sea urchins and a lot of kelp grew back which brought the small fish in and then brought the salmon in. They are very playful but eat half their weight in seafood every day.
