THE WEATHER oGENERAL Oddly it is warmer on the coast than in the towns up the inlets because of the temperature of being right on the Pacific Ocean. There is an old saying that if you don’t like the weather just wait a few hours. There is a lot of dramatic weather but it is always changing. The wind can really blow and in a few hours or days it can be completely still for days on end. While it can be wet and cool it never seems that cold because the ocean moderates the air temperature. If there is snow it usually melts in a day or so. In the summer it can be delightfully warm. This part of the coast gets much less fog than other areas for some reason. THE COMMUNITY oSHARES There are 12 parties that have house sites at Nuchatlitz which makes it nice to have people around to look after the place. A few parties live there year round so that there is someone to look after things no mater what. Nuchatlitz Enterprises is a Corporation with 300 shares for each parcel of land. The shares have been split where two families own one parcel of land. oARTICLES Like any corporation there are articles and an annual meeting (and party) once a year. oPEOPLE I find the people very interesting and a unique breed that has been attracted to this wonderful place oGREATER COMMUNITY In the greater area there are a few First Nations reserves, a few B+B’s and fishing camps between Nuchatlitz and Tahsis. In the summer there are more fishermen and kayakers and in the winter there are storm watchers. Never a dull moment. >Note the information given here is approximate and is generally correct but we are not responsible for any inaccuracies. |
